Spain wants to see Turkey in European Union

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who arrived in Ankara to participate in the Turkey Intergovernmental Summit – Spain, said that relations between the two countries reached the extraordinary level, reports TRT Haber.

“We want Turkey to become a member of the European Union. Turkey is not just an EU neighbor, but also an ally,” said the head of the Spanish government.

Sanchez also stressed that the volume of trade between Turkey and Spain has increased significantly in recent years.

“We have increased the volume of investments. Currently, more than 600 Spanish companies operate in Turkey. The coronavirus epidemic has affected the economies of both countries, but we want the level of commercial cooperation to return to the previous level,” said Prime Minister.
