Spanish farmer Marino Ikhierdo, who went on a bicycle trip for the sake of patients with cancer and orphans in Vietnam, drove through the Turkish city of Dyuzhe.
53-year-old Ikhijerdo, who lives in the Masamagrel region in Valencia, devoted himself to social projects after he lost his father because of cancer.
Being a member of the Bicycle Club in Spain, he also consists in the fight against cancer in France.
In order to draw attention to cancer, Ikhierdo began his bicycle passage in Vietnam on February 7th.
For the sake of this mission, he sold his house and a car, and also collects donations through the club, charitable organizations and friends to help patients with cancer and orphans in Vietnam.
Having drove 11 countries, Iskihirdo reached Turkey, where he visited Dyuzhe.
In his route – 22 countries, and by December he plans to achieve Vietnam.
“I want to draw attention to the fight against cancer”
In an interview with Anadol, Ikhijerdo said that he wants to help patients and orphans in Vietnam.
“I am going to Vietnam through 22 countries. Now I am in Turkey is very beautiful and impressive. I represent three organizations to combat cancer-two from Spain and one of France. The French organization also helps hospitals and orphanages,” the activist said.
According to him, the purpose of the trip is to establish cooperation with funds, transfer donations to hospitals and shelters, and thereby help those who cannot pay for treatment.
“Thanks to these means, people will be able to undergo chemo- and radiation therapy, and we will help orphans through orphanages,” he added.
