The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament drew attention to the bilateral diplomatic relations of the “high level”, noting that they laid their foundation a “sincere dialogue” between the leaders of Turkey and Ukraine.

Stefanchuk also pointed out “close cooperation” between the parliaments of the two countries. “All this creates a great state of relations between our countries,” he added.

He also thanked the people and the state of Turkey for the position regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

According to him, from the beginning of the aggravation of the conflict, Turkey “gave the right political messages”, and also provided assistance to Ukraine in various fields.

– Stefanchuk called Turkey “historical friend”

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament emphasized that Turkey has always opened the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine during the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia and the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The speaker also praised the role of Turkey on the issue of the Black Sea grain initiative.

“Turkey is our historical friend and the historical leader of the region, at the same time history showed us that the warm relations between us were not interrupted,” he stressed.

According to him, one of the points uniting Turkey and Ukraine in the historical field is Crimean Tatars.

Stefanchuk said that the war began with the illegal annexation of Crimea and the “persecution” of the Crimean Tatars, and stated that Turkey and Ukraine have a common view of the situation of Crimean Tatars.

– the role of Turkey in the restoration of Ukraine

Stefanchuk emphasized that the two countries are united by a “common future.”

“I completely believe that Turkey will take the place that our Turkish friends want when a fair world will be reached, when the world comes in Ukraine and when the restoration begins,” he said.

Stefanchuk also recalled the summit of the world, which will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16.

He emphasized that one of the goals of his arrival in Turkey was the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the summit.

The head of the parliament announced the need to achieve a “fair and constant” world.

“This is a war, like in any other war in it there is an aggressor and there is a victim. In our history, Russia is an aggressor, unfortunately, we are victims, and from the point of view of international law, only victims have the right to decide what the world will be “, – he said.

Stefanchuk noted that at the Summit of the world a “formula of the world” of the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky will be discussed.

As for the role of Turkey in this process, Stefanchuk believes that the role of Turkey will be invaluable during and after a peaceful process.
