US Prosecutor General Merrik Garland announced the appointment of Robert Hur with a special prosecutor to investigate the situation around the violation of the rules for storing secret documents dating back to Joe Biden vice presidential.
“I am announcing the appointment of Robert Hur with a special prosecutor who regulates such issues,” Garland said, speaking in the US Ministry of Justice.
He recalled that the initial investigation was conducted by the prosecutor of the Northern District of Illinois John Losh.
According to Garland, Losh informed him about the results of the initial audit and said that “conducting further investigation by the special prosecutor is quite justified.”
