Special services detained ex-premiere of Kyrgyzstan

The Investigation Group of the State Committee of the National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan detained the former Prime Minister Temir Sariev in the case of the Kumtor’s gold deposit. This is reported by TASS.

According to the agency, “the result is established that Sariev, being Minister of Economics and at the same time as the Chairman of the relevant State Commission, has lowered the amount of environmental damage from the work of the Kumtor mine for several billion soms, as a result of which the state was caused by colossal damage.” / P>

The former head of government is expelled in the IVS SIZO GKNB. Incidental actions will continue with him, “According to the results of which in the next 48 hours, the Pervomaisky District Court of the City of Bishkek will consider the issue of election of a preventive measure.”

Previously former presidents of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev and Kurmanbek Bakiyev were announced in the international search on the event of the mine. On Monday, Akayev arrived in Kyrgyzstan, saying that he did it voluntarily and ready to cooperate with the investigation.

Forwards of the case are also the former Prime Ministers of Apas Zhumagulov, Omurbek Babanov and Igor Chudinov, as well as the brother of the former head of the state Soorbek Zheenbekov, an ex-speaker of the Parliament Asylbek Zheenbekov and the younger son Bakiyev – Maxim Bakiyev. For some of them, the criminal case was discontinued due to the expiration of the limitation period of crimes of crimes, the rest are in custody or wanted.
