Special services refute rumors about resignation of head of NSB of Armenia

The National Security Service of Armenia has refuted messages that appeared in local media about the upcoming dismissal of the Director of the Special Service Armen Abazhan. Previously wrote about this newspaper Zohovurd.

The press service of the SNB said Sputnik Armenia that information about the change of the director does not correspond to reality.

Zhokhovurd noted that the new head of the SNB will be the former judge Andranik Simonyan, previously appointed by the Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee.

Since September 2019, several SNB managers have changed in Armenia. After the departure of Arthur Vanzenyan, Edward Martirosyan was appointed in his place. Then he was replaced by Argishti Kyarayan. In October 2020, Kyarayan was removed from the position to which Mikael Ambartsumian was appointed (he held this position for only a month). In early November, Armen Abazyan came to change Ambartsuman.
