The spring of this year in the UK has become the warmest and sunny in the history of observations.

According to the analysis of the British meteorological management of Met Office, based on preliminary data, the spring of 2025 was remembered by historical climatic records.

England, Scotland, Wales and North Ireland survived the warmest spring since 1884 from the point of view of average temperature. Thus, the temperature record of 2024 was exceeded.

This season has also become the very sunny spring in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and in England – the sunny spring according to the accounting of the duration of sunlight since 1910.

In the temperature in March 2025, the general tone set the season: the temperature exceeded the seasonal norm, and the amount of precipitation has significantly decreased.

April 2025 was noted as the most sunny in the history of Great Britain. In May, the temperature was still higher than average.

Thus, the average temperature of 9.5 degrees, measured in the spring of 2025, exceeded the average long -term climatic value by 1.4 degrees.

During this period, the temperature increase was not limited to land areas. The temperature of the sea surface in the waters of Great Britain in April and May broke records, which led to a heat wave in the seas. In some areas, the temperature of the sea surface rose 4 degrees above average.
