The authorities of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan have issued a storm warning in connection with the approach of Typhoon Fung Wong.
As reported by Chinese state media, the state center for flood control and drought control has introduced a fourth level of emergency alert in the coastal provinces of Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and Hainan.
The Hong Kong Observatory also issued a warning No. 1, noting that The typhoon is located about 500 km southeast of the city and continues to move in a northwest direction.
According to the Central Meteorological Administration of Taiwan, the strength of the typhoon is gradually decreasing and in the coming hours it may become a tropical storm, but will affect most of the island, moving from the northeast to the southwest.
Fung Wong is expected to reach the coast of Taiwan in the afternoon, due to which more three thousand residents of mountainous areas were evacuated.
Fung Wong became the 26th typhoon to hit the Pacific Ocean this year. According to local authorities, at least eight people died as a result of the storms and floods in the Philippines.
