Strong earthquake off coast of Indonesia

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck on Monday off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports.

The earthquake was recorded at 12.56 UTC. The epicenter of the tremors was located 158 kilometers southwest of Benkulu province. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

No information about possible casualties and destructions has been received.
