Chairman of the Council of Sovereign of Sudan Abdulfetta al-Burkhan decided to create the National Committee to investigate the US allegations that the Sudanese army “used chemical weapons” during the fighting against the forces of quick response (SBR).
As stated in the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Sudan, the head of the Council of Sovereignty Burkhan decided to create a special commission, which included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense, as well as general intelligence services.
“This decision was made within the framework of Sudan’s commitment to its international obligations, in particular, the agreement on the prohibition of chemical weapons, and in accordance with the principle of transparency adopted by the Sudan government, which did not according to the accusations of the US administration that Sudan used chemical weapons,” the statement said that the committee was created to investigate the accusations of the United States and the immediate submission of its submission of its report.
On May 22, the US State Department announced the decision to impose sanctions against Sudan on the fact that the Sudanese army “used chemical weapons” during clashes with the SBR last year.
The US Congress was informed about the decision of the State Department that the sanctions would come into force on June 6th.
The sanctions include restrictions on the export of Sudan and obstacles to access to US state loans.
On May 23, the Sudan government said that he categorically rejects the “unfounded” and “false” accusations of the United States that the country’s army used chemical weapons in the course of a conflict in the country.
The Sudan government also strongly condemned the US decision, calling it “political blackmail.”
