Fast response forces (SBR) attacked the village of Vad Hamid in the state of North Cordofan in the south of Sudan, 46 people were killed, including five women.
According to the Sudan Doctors Network NPO, the victims were buried in mass graves.
“This is a cruel mass murder – the next link in the chain of severe offenses committed by the SBR against the civilian population. It is a continuation of the policy of systematic violence and terror, directed against unarmed and innocent people throughout Sudan,” said representatives of NGOs.
The organization most decisively condemned the attack and called on the international community to immediate actions in order to protect the civilian population. There was also a call for the introduction of effective and restraining sanctions regarding the leadership of SBR.
Claces in Sudan have been going on for the third year
In Sudan, from April 15, 2023, armed clashes between the army and the SBR continued. The conflict entered into the third year and, according to the UN, caused the world’s largest crisis of internal movement of the population.
The fighting dealt a destructive blow to the country’s infrastructure, as well as on healthcare systems, education and economics.
According to international organizations, more than 11 million people were forced to leave their homes, remaining within the country, about 4 million crossed borders and fled to neighboring states.
The Sudanese Army on May 20 announced the establishment of complete control over the capital of the country, Hartum. At the same time, the SBR forces concentrated their presence in the western regions of the country.
