Sweden allocated to Ukraine to ensure nuclear security

Sweden government allocated 20 million kroons ($ 2.13 million) to strengthen nuclear security in Ukraine.

This was announced by the Minister of International Cooperation Johan Forssell, his words are quoted by the agency of TT.

Sweden in this situation “must simply do everything so that Ukraine can maintain high -quality nuclear safety,” since with the beginning of hostilities this issue has acquired special relevance, Forswell said.

The funds will be transferred to the IAEA, which began work to ensure its presence at all five Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

“is now winter, and we must make Ukraine continue to work. The lack of power supply carries extremely severe consequences for the civilian population, when it is dark and cold. This should not happen,” Forssell emphasized.

20 million kroons are allocated by the Swedish government for 2023. According to the minister, if necessary, additional funding may be provided.
