“The delegation will soon go to Ankara to consider the application to NATO,” RIA Novosti quoted Linda.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey was monitoring the process around the entry of Finland and Sweden to NATO and still cannot look at it positively. The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Chavushoglu, noted that Finland and Sweden announced their readiness to work with Turkey on issues that concern Ankar. On May 15, the ruling Social Democratic Party of Sweden announced an application for membership in NATO, noting that Sweden in the event of approval of its application would oppose the placement of nuclear weapons and military bases on its territory.
