Swedish special forces detained Russian spies

A couple from Russia was arrested in Sweden on suspicion of espionage. For their detention, a special operation was carried out using helicopters and special forces, reports AftonBladet.

Operation “Spear”, as it was called in the press service of the Swedish security police, took place at 6 in the morning Stockholm. Special forces soldiers landed from helicopters to the roof of a residential building and then suddenly burst into the apartment of the suspects, descending to her from above.

As a result of the operation, a married couple from Russia suspected of espionage was arrested. The assault was considered necessary so that the suspects did not manage to destroy the evidence.

The intelligence service informed reporters that the arrested are suspected of committing illegal intelligence activities against Sweden and another country. The husband is suspected of espionage in favor of Russia, his wife is complicated. According to the investigation, spy activity of the couple has been traced since January 2013.
