Switzerland parliament is offered to allow re -export of military equipment

The Council of the Canton Council of the Federal Assembly (Parliament) of Switzerland advocated the weakening of export control for military equipment made in the Confederation.

This is reported by the Swiss media.

We are talking about permission to third countries to re -export such weapons.

A similar commission on security of the lower house of the Swiss parliament – National Council – expressed the same position back in January of this year.

Now, as expected, this measure will consider the parliament in full force. It is planned that this will happen in June 2023.

However, the head of the Canton Canton Council Commission, Verner Zaltsmann pointed out that even if such weakening was adopted, they will not come into force until March 2024.

Commenting on the decision to support this measure, Saltsmann said that the commission proceeded from the national interests that consisted in supporting the Swiss defense industry.
