Syrian families living in the al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria, captured by PKK/YPG, and fleeing the fighting of the terrorist organization Daesh, were removed from the camp in coordination with the government of Damascus and evacuated to the north-west of the country.
Executive Director of the Stability Support Unit Munzir al-Sellal, in an interview with Anadolu Agency, said that after the first evacuation, which began in June 2025, the third convoy, called “Hope 3”, left the camp and arrived in Aleppo province.
Sellal stressed that this initiative is an important step for the reunification of Syrian civilians, those remaining in the camp, with their families: “With this convoy, we are delivering civilians remaining in the al-Hol camp to their families in various provinces of Syria. The convoy includes 38 women and 16 children from the provinces of Homs, Idlib and Daraa.”
Noting that, despite the difficult conditions in the camp, they are trying to speed up the evacuation process as much as possible, Sellal said: “The removal of these families from the camp, reunification with their families and reintegration into Syrian society is both a humanitarian necessity and a national priority.”
He added that to ensure the process moves forward smoothly, many agencies are working in coordination with each other. There are still between 13 and 14 thousand people in the camp, most of them families from regions outside northeast Syria.
The Stability Support Group, in coordination with the Damascus government, organized the first evacuation convoy from al-Hol camp on June 16, 2025.
