Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, speaking about the anniversary of the liberation of Aleppo from the overthrown regime, said: “With Aleppo, all of Syria has been reborn. Aleppo has become our gateway to all of Syria.”
President Sharaa took part in a ceremony organized in the Aleppo fortress on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Aleppo from the forces of the Assad regime.
In his speech, he called the liberation of Aleppo “critical” turning point” in the history of Syria: “I remember the first hours of the liberation of Aleppo. In those moments, we lost a lot; until that day, blood flowed like a river.” Noting that the restoration of freedom in Aleppo gave great hope to the country, Sharaa added: “Those moments when we followed every step of our heroes entering Aleppo and saving its people from the oppression of the old regime are still alive in our hearts.” – Aleppo became the gateway to all of Syria
Highlighting the strategic importance of the city, Sharaa emphasized: “At these moments, a new history of all of Syria was being written. The Aleppo fortress is the most striking symbol of this.”
The President recalled that from the fortress walls of Aleppo they saw how Damascus was liberated: “From this fortress we witnessed the advance of our Mujahideen to the heart of Damascus. Together with Aleppo, all of Syria was reborn. Aleppo became the gateway to all of Syria. When the chain of Aleppo was broken, the prisons were freed, and the faces of the children of Syria once again blossomed with smiles.”
– The restoration of Aleppo is an indispensable and fundamental step in the reconstruction of the country.
Noting that the liberation of Aleppo has given new hope to Syria and the entire region, President Sharaa continued with the words:
“Today we not only celebrate the liberation of Aleppo, but also announce the beginning of a new history for Syria. The reconstruction of Aleppo is an indispensable and fundamental step in the country’s reconstruction process. The city is a vibrant center in terms of economy, construction and development.”
Expressing confidence that the reconstruction process will be successful through unity and solidarity, Sharaa concluded: “We will not be content with just liberating Aleppo. The path has begun from this very moment. We will all work together with all our might to rebuild Syria.”
Anti-government armed group. Heyyat Tahrir al-Sham and the Syrian National Army launched the “Operation to Contain the Enemy” on November 27, 2024 and liberated Aleppo from the forces of the Assad regime on November 29, 2024.
