Tajikistan and China confirmed the readiness to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership and the implementation of joint initiatives in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. This was reported in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan following negotiations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sirodzhiddin Mukhriddin with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Van and, held in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of China Xi Jinping to Tajikistan in 2024, as well as on the fields of the June meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Astana. Particular attention was paid to the promotion of bilateral projects, expanding political dialogue and strengthening economic cooperation.
The ministers separately dwell on humanitarian and cultural initiatives, noting their role in strengthening folk diplomacy. In addition, an exchange of views on topical issues of the regional and international agendas was conducted, including the situation in Central Asia and coordination within the framework of multilateral mechanisms.
This context discussed preparations for the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in September this year in the Tianjin. The parties expressed confidence that the upcoming event will become an important stage in the development of regional interaction and confirmed commitment to the principles of good neighborliness and mutual support.
