In Shiraz, the 17th meeting of the joint commission on economic cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan was held in Shiraz. According to its results, five agreements on partnerships in the fields of standardization, energy, fishing and investment signed. This was reported in the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Dahler Juma noted that the documents cover key areas – economics, trade, construction, science, healthcare and culture.
According to him, the meeting became the basis for deepening bilateral interaction and allowed the parties to determine the priorities of further work.
This meeting opens a new page in the trade, economic and cultural cooperation of our countries, ”he emphasized.
Relations of Tajikistan and Iran
In 2024 and 2025, Tajikistan and Iran signed a series of bilateral agreements covering key spheres – from trade and investment to security, science and culture.
The development of bilateral relations occurs against the backdrop of Dushanbe growing interest in alternative foreign economic partners.
In January 2025, during the official visit of Iranian President Masudshkin, the parties signed 23 cooperation agreements in Dushanbe.
Separate attention was paid to the expansion of logistics interaction through the Iranian port of Chabahar and simplifying the procedures on the border.
In addition, in February 2025, a visa -free regime between the two countries during air travel came into force.
Citizens of Iran and Tajikistan received the right to be in the territory of another country up to 30 days during the 90-day period without receiving a visa.
