Tajikistan And Japan Strengthen Strategic Dialogue

The authorities of Tajikistan and Japan discussed preparations for events as part of the Central Asia + Japan dialogue and confirmed the desire to expand bilateral cooperation in key areas. This was reported in the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Farrukh Sharifzoda with a parliamentary vice-minister of foreign affairs of Japan Hisashi Matsumoto took place in Tokyo.

The parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including economics, trade, energy, transport, rural and water economy, healthcare and education.

Particular attention was paid to issues of preparing for important measures in the framework of the Central Asia + Japan format, which serves as a dialogue platform between the countries of the region and Tokyo.

In addition, the development of interaction at international and regional venues was discussed, including within the framework of the UN.

The parties confirmed the interest in constructive and mutually beneficial partnership.
