Tajikistan And Kyrgyzstan Plan To Increase Trade To $ 500 Million

Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan expressed their readiness to develop and implement a roadmap aimed at increasing bilateral trade to $ 500 million in the medium term. This was stated at a meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda with the Minister of Economics and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakit Sidikov.

According to the Hovar news agency, the roadmap project will include comprehensive measures to expand the export and import of priority goods, simplify trade procedures, modernize logistics and transit, develop digital trade and efficient use of regional economic corridors.

Negotiations were held in Dushanbe as part of the state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.

The ministers discussed the current state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and pragmatic partnerships against the background of growing challenges in the global economy.

It is expected that the upcoming roadmap will become the basis for a closer integration of the economies of the two neighboring countries and will give impetus to cooperation in the field of trade, transport and digital technologies.
