Chamber of Representatives of Tajikistan (Lower Chamber of Parliament) adopted an amnesty law, which will allow for freedom or avoid the conclusion of 16 thousand citizens. This is reported by the ASIA-Plus portal.
In total, the amnesty will raise more than 800 suspects and accused, 350 defendants and almost 10 thousand convicts, and another five thousand prisoners will reduce the sentences. In particular, women, minors, men older than 55 years old, disabled people, patients with severe diseases, veterans of hostilities, owners of state awards and foreigners have been massively released.
It is noted that to persons convicted of economic crimes, including fraud and theft of funds from foreign funds, amnesty will be applied only if they completely induce damage to the state and citizens.
