Tashkent discussed issues of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jahun Bayramov, as part of a working visit to Uzbekistan, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country Bakhtier Saidov, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.

In the course of the meeting, ministers expressed satisfaction with the development of the ascending line of relations between the Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples based on ethnic, historical, cultural and religious roots, and also emphasized the importance of raising the connections of comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.

The meeting discussed issues arising from high-level regular contacts carried out between the two countries on a regular basis, the issues of expanding cooperation in political, socio-economic, energy, humanitarian, educational, tourist, transport, agricultural and other areas.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the issues of cooperation and mutual support both in the bilateral plane and on international and regional platforms, and also noted the importance of further diversification of interaction based on brotherhood and solidarity as part of the organization of Turkic states.

Bayramov noted that the contribution of fraternal Uzbekistan to large -scale work on restoration and construction, carried out in the region in the post -conflict period built in the city of Fizuli, the Mirza Ulugbek Secondary School is highly appreciated by the state and people of Azerbaijan.

The ministers also emphasized the importance of intensifying the work of the consulting mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries and the further expansion of the contractual base.

At the meeting, an exchange of views was held on other bilateral and regional issues representing mutual interest.
