Təbi̇b and Ministry of Health on sick Siberian ulcer in Bard

On September 1, on the basis of information received from a resident of the village of Piyadalar Bardinsky district, a special group consisting of employees of the executive branch of the Bardinsky district, the Center for Monitoring Particularly dangerous infections of the Ministry of Health and the Bardinsky branch of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, the Bardino District Central Hospital , Veterinary equipment, food security agencies, the municipality of the village of Piyadalar, as well as the police, monitored in the village.

In a joint statement of the Association for Management of Territorial Medical Units (Təbi̇b) and the Ministry of Health, it is said that during the monitoring it was revealed that the wounds characteristic of the Siberian ulcer were discovered on the hands and forearms of six villagers. According to the recommendation of the specialist of the infectious department of the Bardino District Central Hospital at Təbi̇b, these persons were placed in the infectious department of the district central hospital. Samples taken from patients for laboratory research were sent to the Mingychevir Regional Center for Monitoring Particularly dangerous infections of the Ministry of Health. Results 3 samples were positive. Persons with positive laboratory tests are treated in the infectious department of the Bardinsky district central hospital. Their condition is stable. It is expected that in the near future patients will be discharged home.

Siberian ulcer pathogen is considered sick animals and earth, in which animals who died from this disease are buried. The disease is transmitted from animals to humans, but not from humans to humans.

According to Haqqin.az, the head of the municipality of the village of Piyadalar Murshud Akhmedov, two women and a man were hospitalized. “Several villagers took samples for infection, cattle were checked, no diseases were found.” According to Akhmedov, there is no panic in the village, all live livestock under the control of specialists.
