Professor of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Ancar Haji Bayram led Soalp Techelik, prepared an analytical article for the influence of Turkey’s achievements in the defense industry on the concept of the Blue Motherland and the meaning of Teknofest to transmit this doctrine to new generations. The vision of Turkey received a specific strategic design within the framework of the Blue Homeland concept. It means not only the protection of the naval jurisdictional rights of Turkey, but also the comprehensive support of its interests in the East Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Aegean region. This concept is not just a geopolitical claim, but a comprehensive security strategy, feeding on technological progress, investments in the defense industry and the scientific and innovative potential of the young generation.
Modernization of the Turkish fleet and the Blue Motherland
Turkish naval forces, thanks to the course for national production, thanks to the course for national production, Turned from the “dependent consumer” into the “creator and exporter of technologies”. The most striking example of this process was the Mi̇lgem project. The process, begun by the “ADA” class, continues the İSTIF class frigates. In 2024, the TCG ̇STANBUL (F -515) – the first national frigate of Turkey, became a milestone in the development of naval warfare technologies. As of 2025, TCG ̇zmit (F-517) and TCG ̇zmir (F-516) were launched, and TCG ̇çel (F-518) was transferred to the equipment stage. These ships strengthened the deterrence within the framework of the Blue Motherland, ensuring long -term autonomy of actions in the Eastern Mediterranean and possessing advanced air and surface defense systems.
TCG Anadolu multi -purpose land, put into operation in 2023, has not only military, but also diplomatic significance. This is the first Turkish carrier-carrier of shock drones to integrated sea and air capabilities. In combination with the Bayraktar Tb3 and Kızılelma drones, this project laid the basis of the concept of the Flying Fleet, which changed the traditional balance of forces in the region.
Modernization of the fleet also includes the Reis class submarines, such as the TCG Piri Reis in 2024. Thanks to the system of movement independent of the air, they got the opportunity to conduct silent operations, which gives Turkey a strategic advantage in the difficult conditions of the Eastern Mediterranean. Khisar patrol ships, which were part of the fleet in 2024, provide long -term water control at a relatively low cost of operation.
of the achievement of Turkey in the defense industry became the driving force of the Blue Homeland concept. National projects – the Gökdeni̇z anti -aircraft complex, the Antmaca anti -ship missile, the Cenk -S radar and the Mi̇dlas vertical trigger system – reduce the dependence of the fleet on foreign technologies and strengthen the potential of Turkey as an exporter of high technologies.
