Telecom-operators of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

Leading telecommunication operators of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will cooperate within the framework of the TRANSCASPIAN Fiber Optic project. This became known during the CIS GCCM 2021 conference, which took place in Nur-Sultan. During the event, two memorandums were signed by the parties. One – between telecommunication operators of Transtelecom JSC, LLC Azertelecom and ELKAT LLC, representing, respectively, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. Second Document – Between JSC “Transtelecom”, LLC “AZERTELECOM” and LLC “Telegraph 42 Management GmbH”, representing, respectively, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

According to Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azertelecom Foad Allahverdieva, the implementation of the TRANSCASPIAN Fiber Optic project (TCFO) opens up new opportunities for the development of cooperation not only between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, but also between the countries of Central Asia. “We believe that in the light of the increase in Internet consumption worldwide, this large-scale digital project will contribute to the development of the telecommunications industry in the region, as well as expanding business between countries and companies,” said Fuad Allahverdiev.

“Transcaspian Fiber Optic is a grand project in the field of digital infrastructure. Today we see it as the only alternative to existing land routes. Recall, Transcaspian Fiber Optic (TCFO) is a large-scale project on laying a fiber-optic communication line for the bottom of the Caspian Sea between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
