Tens of thousands of Frenchmen protested in Paris against high prices

Several tens of thousands of demonstrators went on Sunday, October 16, in Paris in protest against rising prices, reports Le Figaro.

It is noted that the rally is organized by the “Unconquered France” by Jean-Luka Melanshon, Green and Socialists. Demonstrators require an increase in salaries and social benefits, stable electricity prices, the introduction of superprofits, as well as investments in eco -projects. At the same time, the protesters oppose the increase in fuel and food prices, as well as against raising the retirement age.

The procession, together with Melanshon, was headed by writer Annie Erno – Laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Melanshon promises that the next day the protest will continue, from October 18 it announces the beginning of a national strike.

According to the organizers of the rally, 140 thousand people came to it, according to the police, its number is about 30 thousand people. Small groups of protesters threw the police with firecrackers, to which they responded with tear gas.
