This time, chess players play rapid and blitz. Within five days, 11 elite grandmastersters, including Azerbaijani Teymur Rajabov, will play 9 rounds to quick chess and 18 tours to Blitz.
in the 1st round of Rajabov played Rapid with Levon Aronian. The party ended in a draw. Today, Teymur will hold two more parties – against the Frenchman Maxima Maxima-Lyagraw and Iranian Alisa Fird.
Time control in fast chess – 25 minutes plus 10 seconds for each moved, in Blitz – 5 minutes plus 2 seconds.
In competitions in fast chess for victory, 2 points are given, for a draw – 1.
Paris tournament is the second competition from the Grand Chess Tour series. The first ended the other day in Budapest and I confidently won Shahriyar Mammadyarov.
After Paris in Grand Chess Tour, three more tournaments will be played. The following two competitions will also be rapid and blitz – in Zagreb (July 5-12) and St. Louis (August 9-16). And the last tournament, which will also be held in St. Louis from August 16 to 28, – according to classic chess.
The prize fund of the competition in Paris is equal to 150 thousand dollars. The general prize pool of the series – 1 million 275 thousand dollars plus 175 thousand, which will be separated between the best chess players following five tournaments.
