Three Russians are detained after riots in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan law enforcement officers detained 20 foreigners during the riots in early January. This was stated by Tengrinews an authorized on Human Rights Elvira Azimov in response to the question, whether foreign citizens are among the detainees.

“Today there are data on 20 foreign citizens. Most of the citizens of Uzbekistan are 12 people, three citizens of Russia, two of Kyrgyzstan, one of Tajikistan and China and one person without identified citizenship,” she said.

According to her, among the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, one is in Taraz, and the second is in Ust-Kamenogorsk. “The one that in Ust-Kamenogorsk has long been living in Kazakhstan and has a residence permit in our country,” said Azimov.
