Tokaev Announced Absence Of Plans For Country In Near Future To Join Brix

President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev announced the lack of plans for the country in the near future to join Brix. The Kazakh leader said this in an interview with the Catar television channel Al Jazeera.

“We fixed the status of an observer in BRICS, and I believe that this is quite enough,” Tokaev said.

He noted that there are no constant structures within the framework of BRICS, “there is no charter, no secretariat, no programs, and so on.”

Expansion of the UN Security Council

The President of Kazakhstan also shared his vision of the UN reform.

“First of all, the Security Council should be expanded. New developing states should be part of this key body of the United Nations, possibly on a rotational basis. In any case, large powers as Japan, Germany, as well as representatives of Asian and African states, should be included in the Security Council or somehow involved in its activities. This would be a fair solution to the problem. You have just mentioned the isolation of some large states or powers.

Tokaev noted that the UN Security Council is faced with a serious crisis: he lacks both the authorities and the will to solve key international problems.

“Of course, this is a serious challenge. That is why I believe that such medium -sized powers as Kazakhstan should play a more significant role in solving and resolving the main international problems. Kazakhstan is firmly advocated for the reform of the United Nations. When the organization was only created, it included 51 state. These were the founding countries. It was already 193 member, – Tokayev said, Tokayev, Tokayev, Tokaev, Tokayev, Tokayev, Tokayev, words which leads Kazinform.

Alternative oil transportation routes

The President of Kazakhstan also commented on the issue of alternative oil transportation routes, in particular in the light of its delivery through the Caspian pipeline consortium (KTK), connecting the Western Kazakhstan deposits with the sea terminal in the village of South Ozerevka under the Russian Novorossiysk.

“We must remember that Russia is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan, our direct neighbor and ally. We have the longest border in the world and Russia. In addition, we count on Russia as our strategic partner, and especially we counting on KTK. The other day I had a telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin, and, I admit, we discussed issues related to the KTK. I am sure that KTK will continue to serve as a good tool for transporting Kazakhstani oil through Russia to the European market and beyond, ”Tokaev said.
