Kazakh President Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev said that he was during the events of the bloody January in his residence in Nur Sultan despite the fact that he was advised to leave the country as soon as possible. He said about this in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 24”.

“The goal of all the coups is, say, the coming to the power of other people. As for me, I was here all these days in the building of the president’s residence, I did not go anywhere. Moreover, of course, I spent the night here,” said Tokaev.

The President of Kazakhstan said that from the very beginning of the riots he was not going to leave the country or leave the capital.
