The President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev called the “historical” visit of the President of the Republic of Ruanda Paul Kagama to the country.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Ruandan relations in political, trade, economic, transport, logistics, agrarian spheres and digitalization. Presidents exchanged views on regional and international issues.

The head of the Kazakh state noted that since the last visit of the Kagama field to Kazakhstan in 2015, both countries have reached significant progress in bilateral relations based on mutual respect and general vision of cooperation and sustainable development. The President emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the expansion of ties with African states.
“Kazakhstan is ready to embody our aspirations into a practical plane through the implementation of specific projects on a mutually beneficial basis. I am sure that the agreements reached during your visit will take Kazakh -Ruandan relations to a new level,” Tokaev said.
In turn, President of the Republic of Ruanda Paul Kagama expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the efforts of Kazakhstan to develop bilateral cooperation.
He emphasized that Rwanda sees significant potential for strengthening partnership with Kazakhstan and is ready to implement joint initiatives, which will contribute to the prosperity of both countries and strengthen the dialogue.
During negotiations, the heads of state determined a number of priority areas for further interaction, including trade, investments, transport, agriculture, information technology, electronic government and finance.
