Qatar is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the Islamic world. This was stated by President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev at a meeting with Emir Catar Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al Tanya.
“I believe that the time has come to give a new impetus to our bilateral relations. I propose to bring interaction between Kazakhstan and Qatar to the level of a full -fledged strategic partnership. During my visit, important documents will be signed that will give our cooperation strategic nature. We We attach great importance to our relations, since Qatar is a special country for us. The Head of State believes that in the near future, Qatar will be included in the ten largest investors in Kazakhstan. The President noted the readiness of Kazakhstan to increase export to Qatar at 60 non -resource commodity positions totaling $ 250 million. He also suggested in the near future to increase mutual trade to $ 500 million.
During the negotiations, the issues of agriculture, transport, logistics and tourism were discussed. In particular, the leader of Kazakhstan called on Qatar to joint efforts to develop the intermodal transport network connecting the bay and central Asia to stimulate economic activity in the region
Meanwhile, Emir Catarus expressed confidence that today’s meeting will contribute to the further development of relations between countries.
Separate attention was paid to the issues of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. The head of our state proposed in 2025 to organize the days of the culture of Kazakhstan and Qatar in the capitals of the two countries.
