Tokaev urged Beijing to participate in expansion of capabilities of Caspian ports

Kazakh President Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev invited Chinese partners to mutually beneficial cooperation to expand the capabilities of the ports of the Caspian Sea, digitalize their activities, as well as joint production of transport vessels.

An important step in this direction will be the speedy opening of the third railway crossing on the Kazakh-Chinese border, the president continued.

One of the key sections of the China – Central Asia – Europe, Tokaev believes, is the Transkaspian International Transport Route. “At the current stage, this artery has acquired strategic importance. They intend to systematically increase its bandwidth by introducing digital decisions and modernization of infrastructure,” he said.

Given that China is the main consignor, Astana considers it necessary to activate joint efforts to ensure maximum and uninterrupted loading of the specified route, Tokaev continued.

“We invite Chinese partners to mutually beneficial cooperation to expand the capabilities of the Caspian Sea ports, digitalize their activities, as well as joint production of transport vessels. Great prospects for our countries also open up the use of the potential of the Kazakhstan -Turgenistan -Iran railway,” the head of state said said .
