Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Akorda press service on Friday, November 21.
The head of state noted that Pashinyan’s visit is of particular importance. “We are confident that it will give a significant impetus to the development of strategic partnership between our countries. This is your first visit to Kazakhstan. The Kazakh people have great respect for the people of Armenia, their history, traditions and culture. During the visit, a number of important agreements will be signed,” said the Kazakh leader.
In turn, Pashinyan thanked Tokayev for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan on an official visit and for the warm welcome in Astana. The head of the Armenian Cabinet expressed confidence that the visit will give new impetus to our bilateral relations. “I believe that this new era in our relations has opened thanks to your official visit to the Republic of Armenia last year, as a result of which we signed a number of important agreements, some of which have already been implemented, the rest are in the process of implementation. It is a great honor for me to be on an official visit to Kazakhstan,” the president said.
Talks in expanded format
During negotiations in expanded format, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the peoples of the two countries have long been bound by bonds of strong friendship and mutual respect.
“Armenia is one of the main political, trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus. The Kazakh people have special respect for the Armenian people, their ancient history, rich culture and traditions. Your country has become one of the most popular tourist destinations for Kazakhstanis. Significant events took place this year that contributed to the rapprochement of our countries. In For the first time in Armenia, the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan were held, a park was opened in Yerevan in honor of the great Kazakh poet and educator Abay Kunanbayuly,” Tokayev said.
The head of state expressed gratitude to Pashinyan for supporting these important endeavors. “We regard this as a special manifestation of sincere respect for the people of Kazakhstan,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the president, an open and trusting political dialogue has developed between Astana and Yerevan at all levels. Close and fruitful cooperation has been established within the framework of regional and international structures.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that bilateral trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and educational contacts are consistently developing. According to him, interstate relations are truly constructive, and there is significant potential for their comprehensive strengthening and expansion.
