In the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, the trial continues on the criminal case of the former head of the public service for the protection, development and recovery of cultural heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Zakira Sultanov, who received the nicknamer “Mojer of the Old Baku”. According to his own Correspondent Haqqin.az, at the meeting as a witness a representative of OJSC Azera Hragratiki Nesret Omarov was interrogated.
Recall, it was during the period of finding Zultanov as the main security guard of a unique architectural heritage of Baku oligarchs destroyed hundreds of unsurpassed monuments of the era of the first oil boom – decorated the old Baku beautiful architectural buildings. At the scene of the splendor of the magnificence, tasteless concrete glass horrors appeared. This is a historical crime, including the conscience of Zakira Sultanova, what Haqqin.az wrote during the biggest construction. It is a pity that Z. Sultanov did not suffer the corresponding punishment specifically for the commission of his main crime to modern and future generations.
Nusret Omarov noted that OJSC “Azera Hragratiki” won 31 million manat for repair and restoration work. This amount was spent on the repair of the Art Museum.
“I was repeatedly in this museum. 31 million manat is too big amount. What did you spend it?”, “the judge asked.
What Nusret Omarov noted that the museum was restoration work. Answering the questions of the parties, the representative of OJSC “Azerarartynti” said that their company won tenders in a number of state-owned projects, be it restoration of the Palace of Gulustan and the Milli Majlis buildings.
“Regarding the Museum of Arts, experts from Italy worked there. They were allocated 12 million manat. When employees of foreign companies work in Baku, they require good conditions. They need to organize housing, rest … in short, not like our Employees. Invitation of foreign specialists is a cost. Some expenses demanded cash, and we cashed out of the allocated funds, “said Nesret Omarov.
Nusret Omarov also asked the judge to summon the former Minister of Culture of Abulfas Garayev: “I ask you, call him to court. He knows all the nuances.”
Zakir Sultanov also asked to call for an ex-minister: “Abulfas Garayev took part in these cases. I ask you to provide his appearance to court.”
The next session of the court will be held on September 16.
