Trump And Putin Agreed To Personal Meeting In Budapest

US President Donald Trump announced telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimirov Putin.

Trump wrote about this on the social network Truth social.

According to him, he just completed a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and it was very productive.

“President Putin congratulated me and the United States with the great achievement of peace in the Middle East, which he said had been dreamed of for centuries. I truly believe that success in the Middle East will help us negotiate to end Russia’s war with Ukraine. President Putin thanked First Lady Melania for her work with children. He was very grateful and said that this work will continue,” he noted.

The presidents also devoted a lot of time to discuss trade between Russia and the United States after the end of the war with Ukraine.

At the end of the conversation, the leaders agreed that our senior advisers would meet next week. The first meetings on the US side will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with others to be appointed at a later date. The location of that meeting is yet to be determined.

“President Putin and I will then meet at an agreed upon location in Budapest, Hungary, to see if we can end this ‘inglorious’ war between Russia and Ukraine,” he said.

Trump added that he will meet with Vladimir Zelensky on Friday in the Oval Office and discuss with him conversation with President Putin and much more.

“I believe that today’s telephone conversation brought great progress,” summed up the US President.
