Trump Noted Contribution Of Trade Agreements With Asian Countries To US Economy

US President Donald Trump said that during his Asia tour he met with many world leaders, strengthened bilateral relations and reached trade agreements, which he said made a significant contribution to the country’s economy.

In a publication on Truth Social, Trump summed up his five-day trip to Asia. The President said that during the tour he held meetings with the leaders of China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The head of the White House noted that negotiations with these countries contributed to the formation of long-term partnerships.

Trump emphasized that thanks to the introduced customs duties and the trade agreements reached, significant financial resources have flowed into the American economy. “It was a great honor to meet with the leaders of these countries. It was especially important for me to see that the United States was again treated with respect. Today, America is a country that is respected more than ever before,” Trump said.

A Call to Republican Senators

Trump criticized Democrats and held them responsible for the shutdown of the federal government caused by the refusal to approve the temporary budget.

He noted that during his Asian tour he was repeatedly asked questions about how Democrats “closed down” the United States and why Republicans allowed it to happen.

According to Trump, Democrats intend to cut trillions of dollars from the health care budget and direct these funds to “people who entered the country illegally, as well as people released from prisons and mental institutions.” He stressed that Republicans will not allow the plans to go ahead.

Trump called on Senate Republicans to “play their card” and end the use of the filibuster, which he said interferes with the legislative process.

The filibuster is a practice in which senators can speak for hours on the Senate floor to prevent the passage of an unwanted bill. These speeches are not limited by law and can continue indefinitely.
