US President Donald Trump, noting the high likelihood of concluding a truce agreement in Gaza in the near future, said: “This weekend, maybe Sunday, I will be able to go there (to the Middle East).”
At the beginning of his speech at an event in the White House, he made a statement about the truce process in Gaza.
Trump noted that the truce negotiations, which are currently ongoing in Egypt are going well, and indicated that he may go to the region.
The US President said: “A peace agreement for the Middle East, we hope that it will be concluded, everything is going very well now. We have a great team there (in Egypt), excellent negotiators. I think that this (agreement) will be concluded. The chances of this are high. Over the weekend, perhaps Sunday, I can go there.”
The President said that on Saturday he could leave the United States and go to the region, and be there on Sunday.
Stressing that the negotiation process is going well, Trump noted that many Muslim countries are involved in it, and such a situation has never happened before.
