US President Donald Trump said that Washington would not allow Tehran to enrich Uranus under a potential nuclear agreement. The head of the White House wrote on the social network Truth Social.
He noted that the previous administration of the White House had to stop Iran from enrichment for a long time.
“In accordance with our potential agreement, we will not allow any enrichment of Uranus,” Trump said.
Meanwhile, the Axios platform with reference to two sources said that the US Offer under a nuclear agreement provides for a permit for low -level enriching of uranium Iran over a limited period of time.
It is noted that the draft proposal submitted by Iran by the special representative of the US President Donald Trump with Steve Whitkoff May 31 contains “preliminary ideas”, which are planned to be discussed in the next round of negotiations.
Iranian-American nuclear negotiations and Trump’s proposal
While nuclear negotiations between Iran and the USA are continuing, the issue of enriching uranium remains the main subject of disagreements between the parties.
Iran insists on lifting sanctions in exchange for limiting its nuclear program in such a way as to exclude the possibility of creating an atomic bomb.
American officials, who previously allowed the possibility of low -level enrichment of Uranus Tehran, recently stated that they now demand a complete cessation of enrichment.
The parties held five rounds of negotiations through the mediation of Oman. The time and place of the next meeting has not yet been defined.
American media reported that on May 11, a written proposal under a nuclear transaction was transferred at negotiations in the Oman of the Iranian delegation. US President Donald Trump announced the proposal: “But [Iran] should act quickly, otherwise bad things will happen.”
Foreign Minister Iran Abbas Arakchi, in turn, confirmed that the proposal, which Trump mentioned about two weeks ago, was transferred to Oman on May 31.
