Trump Will Sign Presidential Decree On Lifting Of Sanctions From Syria

US President Donald Trump will sign a presidential decree on the lifting of sanctions from Syria.

This was reported in the White House.

The White House spokeswoman Caroline Litt spoke at a daily press conference.

Having stated that Trump will sign a presidential decree on the termination of the US sanctions against Syria, Lithitt said: “This is an attempt to support and advance the country’s path to stability and the world.”

Commenting the decree, Lithuvt noted: “The decree cancels sanctions against Syria, while maintaining sanctions against the former president (Bashar) Assad and his supporters, violators of human rights, drug dealers, persons related to the creation of chemical weapons, deash and related organizations, as well as Iranian proxies.”

She recalled that Trump met with the new leader of Syria during his Middle Eastern trip and promised to cancel the sanctions.

“The president is committed to the support of a stable, unified Syria, living in the world with himself and his neighbors,” the press secretary emphasized.
