During the operation in Istanbul, 17 suspects were detained – members of the Deaash terrorist organization involved in the attack on the Santa Maria Church in the Saryer region, as a result of which one person died.
According to information received from the security sources involved in the attack on the Santa -Maria Church, were identified during the investigation conducted by the Turkish intelligence organization (Mi̇t) together with the Main Security Directorate.
The operation in Istanbul was carried out at once in order to prevent possible attacks in the country.
during the operation, 17 suspects were detained, during the searches, many documents of the organization were seized.
Thanks to the work conducted by the Turkish special services, in December 2023 the planned terrorist attacks of Deashas against synagogues and churches in Turkey, as well as Iraq embassies, were prevented. A large number of suspects were detained, digital materials belonging to the organizations were seized.
