Turkey calculated losses due to abolition of flights from Russia

Russian authorities extended a ban on flights to Turkey at least until June 21 of this year. According to the Russian Association of Tour Operators (Attor), because of this, the loss of the tourism sector in Turkey only in June will be about 334 million dollars. At the same time, Turkish tour operators believe that the amount of losses for this month can exceed half a billion dollars, reports Daily Sabah.

At the same time, there is no complete confidence that flights will resume after June 21. Therefore, the reservation for a later date may be canceled, which will bring additional losses, warns Ferit Turgut, Chairman of the Council of Regional Representatives of the Union of Travel Agencies of Turkey (Türsab). According to him, the total amount of losses of the local tourismaker as a result of the lack of Russian tourists from April 15 to June 21 will exceed two billion dollars, the article says.
