Ankara requires Washington either to change the decision under the F-35 fighter supply program, or return the money. About this, as Anadolu writes, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu.
The United States has previously sent an official notification of Turkey about its exclusion from the F-35 F-35 Supply program due to the purchase of Russian Air Defense Air Defense S-400. The states were canceled by a joint memorandum of the F -35 with Turkey, signing it with seven partners on this project – the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, Canada and Norway.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan subsequently announced the US offer of other fighters, but not the fifth, but the fourth generation – F -16.
“The Congress has a certain movement on this issue. As for the F -35, the congress needs to revise our decision. We say, either cancel this decision, or return the money we invested,” said Chavusholu.
