Turkey exports in May grew by 14.4%, exceeding $ 21.6 billion

Turkey exports in May 2023 increased by 14.4 percent to the mark of 21 billion 659 million dollars compared to last year. This is evidenced by the data from the Institute of Statistics of Turkey on Foreign Trade for the fifth month of the current year.

Turkish imports over the same period increased by 15.5 percent – up to 34 billion $ 186 million.

A deficiency of foreign trade in May increased by 17.6 percent compared to last year’s indicator – up to $ 12 billion 527 million. The ratio of export to import was 63.4 percent, while in May 2022 it reached 64 percent.

In January-May, Turkey exports increased by 0.1 percent to 102 billion 476 million dollars, import increased by 8.8 percent to 158 billion 498 million dollars.

Foreigned trade deficiency increased by 29.3 percent to 56 billion 22 million dollars.
