Turkey indicated need to meet Erdogan and Assad

The chairman of the Turkish Party of the Nationalist Movement, Devlet Bakhcheli, who is in an alliance with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that the Turkish leader should meet with the Syrian President Bashar Assad.

“Contact established by our president with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al -Sisi is the right contact. It is also necessary to create the opportunity to meet with Bashar Assad and develop general measures to counteract terrorist organizations,” said Bakhcheli, quoted by foreign media.

The Turkish media after negotiations on August 5 in Sochi, the presidents of Turkey and the Russian Federation reported that Ankara discusses the possibility of establishing direct contacts between the Turkish and Syrian leadership. The Turkish authorities in this regard stated that such negotiations have not yet been planned and contacts between Ankara and Damascus are supported only through the special services.
