The export of Turkish salmon over 6 months reached 217 million 109 thousand 466 dollars. According to the data collected by an anadol correspondent, based on the information of the Association of Exporters of the Eastern Black Sea region (DKİB), the Turkish salmon grown first in the ponds, and then, reaching a certain weight moved to cages in the Black Sea, found buyers in 25 countries from January to June.
ZZA, the first six months of the year, 32 thousand tons of salmon were exported from Turkey, which brought an income of 217 million 109 thousand 466 dollars.
During this period, the main countries of the importers have become the Russian Federation, Belarus and Japan. From January to June, salmon was exported to the Russian Federation in the Russian Federation in the amount of 150 million 996 thousand $ 208, in Belarus – at 20 million 495 thousand 829 dollars, in Japan – for 15 million 772 thousand dollars.
Unlike the first half of last year, during this period, Turkish salmon began to be delivered to Azerbaijan.
“We will accelerate the work on entering new markets”
The chairman of the Aquaculture Committee DKİ) Ismail Koby told Anadol that the share of Turkish salmon on world tables continues to grow.
According to him, export income in the first half of the year clearly demonstrates the level achieved by the sector. “We exported more than 32 thousand tons. This is not only quantitative success, but also an indicator that our efforts and quality have received recognition at the global level,” he said.
Koby said that representatives of the sector are making efforts to supply Turkish salmon to new countries, and in the near future they activate the work on entering new markets.
He drew attention to the fact that the export of Turkish salmon in recent years gained a significant pace. “Turkish salmon today is not just export products, but also a symbol of agricultural potential of Turkey, technological progress in the field of aquaculture and a stable approach to production. Thus, we successfully completed the first six months of the year with good results. Our next goal is to exceed the line of annual export of $ 500 million,” he added.
