The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRK) can become an island of technology development, thanks to the festival of aviation, space and technology (Teknofest). About this “Anadolo” was stated by the Turkish astronaut Tuva Dikhangir Ataseever.
“TRK will be allocated not only by tourism and natural beauties, but also by its achievements in the field of technology,” he said.
Astronaut noted that he had the opportunity to meet with Turkish youth and tell about his scientific missions at many events held so far, and now such an opportunity appeared in TRK, thanks to Teknofest.
Ataseever expressed satisfaction by the fact that the festival takes place with the same enthusiasm as in Turkey. According to him, on the first day the festival gathered a large number of visitors, despite rainy weather.
Ataseever noted that Citizens TRSK showed great interest in the “Mission of Cosmic Sciences” and expressed confidence that the children and youth with whom they interacted will be able to build a career in the field of space technology.
Astronaut recalled the performance of the head of the Ministry of Industry of Turkey Mehmeta Fatikha Kajyr at the festival. “Thanks to Teknofest, there is a real possibility that TRSK will turn into an island on which technologies develop. TRK will stand out not only by tourism and natural beauties, but also with its capabilities in the field of technology development. For me, a great joy to be a citizen of Turkey, who can contribute to such a transformation. I hope that our young friends who spoke about space research will reveal the potential of this island and create conditions for a much higher standard of living, ”said the interlocutor of the agency.
The goal is to increase the number of astronauts from Turkey
Ataseever recalled that a year has passed since its suborbital flight into space on June 8, 2024, during which he conducted a number of scientific experiments.
He also noted that after returning from the mission he visited several cities of Turkey to tell youth about space research.
“It was a very rich and exciting year. The main goal of all the efforts that we have already realized and will continue to implement in the future is an increase in the number of astronauts, the vicinel of Turkey,” Ataseever added.
11th International Aviation, Cosmos and Technology Festival (Teknofest) is held in the capital of TRK, the city of Lefkosh.
The Teknofest held since 2018 has managed to turn into the world’s largest event in its industry.
The current festival is organized by the Turkish Technological Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey with the support of the Presidential Administration of TRK. 132 structures acted as partners of the event.
