Turkish defense industry expands capabilities of terrestrial drone of Barkan

The Turkish defense industry continues to develop new advanced technologies for the country’s security forces.

In the defense industry of Turkey, a system has been formed, which operates on the basis of its own capabilities. The work is carried out taking into account the latest achievements, needs arising “on the battlefield”, and requests of users of products.

An example of such studies is the ground unmanned vehicle Barkan. The car has already replenished the arsenal of the country’s power structures.

The drone is equipped with an automatic grenade launcher (RDS40-AGL), developed by REPKON Defense defense engineers. The Unirabotics Trakon Lite Armament Armament Module is also integrated into it.

The Turkish combat robot has already successfully passed the tests.

Barkan refers to the ground unmanned systems of “first level and middle class.” It is produced by Havelsan. Designed as one of the ground elements of the concept of “digital unity” implemented by Havelsan.

Barkan entered the Armed Forces of Turkey at the end of 2023 after successful tests in the field.

Thanks to its characteristics, the device is able to overcome long distances in complex areas and with adverse weather conditions, as well as eliminate asymmetric threats to security forces.

Barkan is designed to ensure a high level of security in situations requiring a flexible reaction.

Disruption can develop a speed of more than 13 kilometers per hour. Operating time is more than 5 hours.

Thanks to the integrated Trakon Lite module, a terrestrial drone will be able to carry 7.62, 5.56 mm machine guns and 12.7 mm caliber large -caliber machine guns.

40 mm Automatic Grenade launcher of caliber is capable of shooting 40×53 mm caliber ammunition. RDS40-AGL stands out among its analogues by focus on the user, more reliability and strength.
