Turkish Foreign Ministry: Attacks On Ships In Black Sea EEZ Pose Serious Risks

The attack on two merchant ships in Turkey’s exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea created serious security risks.

The official representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Oncü Keceli wrote about this on the social network of the American company X, commenting on the attack on the ships “KAIROS” and “VIRAT” in the Black Sea.

“Incidents that occurred within our exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea create serious risks for the safety of navigation, life, property and the environment environment in the region,” said a foreign ministry spokesman.

Keceli noted that the attacks carried out yesterday on the Gambian-flagged merchant tankers KAIROS and VIRAT are of serious concern.

Ankara continues contacts with the relevant parties in order to prevent the conflict from spreading to the Black Sea, as well as to protect Turkey’s economic interests and activities in the region, the diplomat added.
